We are trained small animal implanters.  This means we are trained to preform microchip implanting.  We completed the training fully meaning we are able to do everything from ferrets and rabbits to cats and dogs.  Literally anything smaller than a horse.

 

Microchipping is very helpful if your pet goes missing to help contact you, to help prove ownership if your pet is stolen, or if you (or someone pet sitting for you) needs to differentiate two almost identical pets.  Implanters come in all different skill levels.  We are experienced with a wide variety of small pets and have never had a chip migrate.

 

It is now law for dogs to be microchipped before leaving the breeders and in some areas it looks like this may become the case for cats too.  We personally feel it is important for our ferrets too, as such all our kits leave microchipped to us on petlog.  Please make sure if you swap them over to your name you keep details up to date, or if you'd rather you can keep them registered with us and keep us up to date on your details.

Registries

We use 2 registries; Petlog and Animal Tracker

​

Animal Tracker is cheaper but you can only have a total of 5 pets on a basic account and they charge you for an account  £10 per chip

Petlog is slightly more expensive but they allow as many pets as you like on a free register.  We also like how easy it is to update your account.  You can update your details for all pets simultaneously for a fee or add a new pet to your account with the new details and it automatically updates your contacts for all pets.  Alternatively you can upgrade for a one off payment and change details as often as you need for no more cost.  £15 per chip

It is the owners responsibility to keep contact details up to date so please bare in mind when choosing

We have a clear preference for petlog so if you would like animal tracker we may need to order them in for you.  Please bare this in mind when booking

Booking chipping

Please contact us with numbers and the register desired to book.  We will check stock of our microchip and if needed order them for you.

We will arrange a time and date which can be at our home, yours or a third location as long as its secure for the safety of your pet.  If we are travelling you will be asked to pay travel costs.

If you are booking multiple chips you may be asked to pay a booking fee.  

​

​

We are trained in small animal first aid.  If your pet needs first aid at any time in our presence will give it to them.  By booking the owner is giving permission for us to treat their pet if needed.
